Yaounde Photo Network at Unseen Amsterdam

Yaounde Photo Network (YPN), Cameroon’s platform for photography and lens-based arts, is pleased to announce its participation to the 2018 edition of CO-OP at Unseen Amsterdam. CO-OP is devoted to artist-run initiatives and collectives, enabling them to show their latest work in dynamic presentations and new commercial formats. Recognising the significance of artists who unite to make and show work, this edition examines themes such as authorship, mass tourism, migrant stereotyping and education.

The exhibition display at CO-OP will feature works by Romuald Dikoume, Blaise Djilo, Max Mbakop, Steve Mvondo, Yvon Ngassam and Antoine Ngolke do’o. This will be YPN’s first participation at an international fair and the photographers first showcase in Europe. In addition to the presentation of photographs is planned a conversation on Cameroonian photography examining its place locally, on the continent, and in relation to the global art scene.

Unseen is a leading platform for contemporary photography. Exclusively focusing on what’s new in the photography world, Unseen provides a channel for up-and-coming talents to showcase their work. It also brings together the international photography community to discuss and debate the directions in which the photographic medium is evolving.

CO-OP at Unseen will take place from 21 to 23 September 2018 at Westergasfabriek, Amsterdam.
